Alice Soprunova

Bio/CV:

Alice is a historian and theorist of moving-image editing and transsexual ontologies and futures. She received her BS in Mathematics with a BA in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Chicago. Her research critiques the hegemonic histories and epistemologies of editing (particularly discourses surrounding "editing continuity") from perspectives of science and technology studies, critical theory, and the philosophy of mathematics. She is also deeply invested in psychoanalysis, Classical Hollywood, Soviet cinema, and the relations between transsexual bodies and the camera. A secondary project endeavors to formulate an antequeer ("Tranthropocentric") theory of sex-change and transsexual speciation.
