Hello all, 

We are excited to announce that Charles Ferguson will be this year's Keynote Speaker for 

Film and Rhetoric's Spring 2018 Commencement Ceremony. 

 

 

 

 

Charles received his B.A in Mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1978 and obtained a PhD in Political Science from MIT in 1989.

In 1994, Ferguson founded Vermeer Technologies which he sold in early 1996 to Microsoft, which integrated FrontPage into Microsoft Office. Shortly after selling Vermeer, Ferguson turned to research, writing and filmmaking. He is the author of five books, including High Stakes, No Prisoners Winner's Tale of Greed and Glory in the Internet Wars and Predator Nation: Corporte Criminals, Political corruption, and the Hijacking of America. He's written for the Huffington PostThe GuardianThe New York Times, and other publications. 

At present he is a award-winning documentary filmmaker and founder and president of Representational Pictures Inc. He directed and produced the Oscar-nominated No End in Sight:The American Occupation of Iraq (2007) and the Oscar-winning Inside Job (2010). His most recent film was Time to Choose (2016).
