This course will explore representations of mental illness and mental health across a variety of media including literature, comics, film, and video games. We will consider how discussions around mental health and wellness have shifted in popular culture in recent years through analysis of our various course texts, as well as questions around empathy and how mental illness has often been used as a storytelling device.
